Manteca Aquatics Mission Statement

bullet The mission of Manteca Aquatics Swim Club is...

... to provide the youth of our community with a United States Swimming club. Team members are given the opportunity and encouraged to pursue their goals in the sport of competitive swimming. All swimmers are valued and supported whatever their experience level, from novice to national.

bullet We believe...

... the team should support swimmers of all abilities to pursue their long-term goals in the sport of swimming.

...the team should provide serious athletes with the opportunity to develop into competitive high school, collegiate, and national level swimmers.

...in an equal partnership between swimmers and coaches. The swimmers should make a commitment to the process, the team, and the coaches, and they should act with integrity and respect. The coaches should commit to providing the best in technique and training that the sport has to offer. Additionally, coaches should support the athletes in other areas, such as academics, as well as in their college pursuits.

...above all, that every member of the team should learn the lessons that sports has to offer; discipline, commitment, personal responsibility, goal setting, and even challenge and adversity.

...that every member of the team should be treated as people (individuals) first, and athletes second.

...strongly in a true team environment. The team includes swimmers, coaches and parents. No one should be differentiated by ability or any other characteristic. Everyone contributes to and is a valuable part of the process, the experience, and the environment.

...that in an environment of training and competition, integrity and sportsmanship should always hold true.

...in a positive, open relationship between coaches and parents.

...that as the community supports our sport and our team, we should in turn be positive and contributing members of the community.

...that the team should support and follow the policies and guidelines of the governing body of United States Swimming.
